“VAN” (Dar Rafi – Srinagar) :: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal Showkat Ahmad along with Senior Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal Khalil Poswal today chaired a meeting of the District and Sectoral officers to finalize the arrangements for the flawlessly and impressively celebration of Independence Day 2019.

During the meeting, it was decided that the main function will be organized at Madri Meharban Stadium, Ganderbal where the Chief guest would hoist the tri-color and take the salute from the March past contingents of JKP, JKAP , CRPF, PTS Manigam and School children.

It was also revealed that a colourful cultural programme will also be presented by the school children on the occasion besides full dress rehearsal shall be held on August 13, 2019.

Other necessary arrangements were also finalized which include Medical Facility, Drinking water facility, un-interrupted Power supply, Sanitation, Seating arrangement , full dress rehearsal, traffic regulation, refreshment for the students after the rehearsal and main function, illumination of government buildings, medical and other emergencies were finalized.

The ADC asked the concerned departments to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in time and adopt coordinated approach for the smooth and enthusiastic celebration of the national festival. He also stressed that the committees constituted will re-check all the arrangements put in place and directed the Officers to ensure the presence of all employees during the function.

Reviewing the security arrangements, the SSP asked for sensitization of foolproof security in and around the venue for which he urged for coordination among all security agencies. The Traffic department was directed to identify space for parking of vehicles near the venues and ensure proper route plan during the event.

Arrangements of installation of CCTV cameras at venue, barricading, PAS, fire tenders, mobile toilets at the venue, entry passes and media management were discussed threadbare.

Among others, meeting was attended by ACR, CPO, ACD, CEO, executive engineers of R&B, PHE and PDD, CMO, DFO, DIO besides other District and Sectoral Officers. Officials from 5RR, 24RR, PTS Manigam and 118 Bn CRPF also attended the meeting.
