First Case of Coronavirus Confirmed in Australia

~ Following the outspread of the deadly disease, the Australian government has confirmed its first case of the coronavirus, with a patient hospitalized in a stable condition in a suburb of Melbourne, health officials said on Saturday.

"VAN" (International Desk) :: According to the Australian Health Minister, Jenny Mikakos, the virus affected patient is a Chinese national who arrived from Guangzhou China to Sydney on 19 January. Ms. Mikakos stated that “the patient is undergoing the required treatment and we have not noticed any further suspected case at this stage, and everything is under control.” After the discovery of the deadly virus in China, it has been spreading rapidly across nations. The first cases in Europe were confirmed after France declared that three people had been fallen ill. Reports say the total number of people killed by the illness has reached 41, while the total number of cases worldwide is now estimated to be more than 1200 as of now. The Chinese government has taken serious actions to control the spread of the disease. The country has been forced to put a lockdown on more than 41 million people and stop travel in and out of Wuhan, where the disease is thought to have originated. China, France, United States, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, and Vietnam are the countries that have confirmed coronavirus cases among others.
