“VAN” (Om Parkash Mundra – Paris, France – 26.07.2024) :: First time in the history, Olympic was organised in Paris in 1900 and after that in 1924 with 44 countries only with a cost of 10 Million local currency. Now Paris is organising these games third time after 100 years and the cost has increased sky high to 8.2 Billion USD. Around 206 countries will participate in 2024 Olympic Games, which may go up to USD 10 Billion.
The costliest ever Olympic ever is Tokyo Olympics in 2022, around USD 20 Billion was spend. London Olympic Games in 2012 costed USD 17.1 Billion and Rio-De-Janerio in 2016 costed 15.6 billion. In comparison to last 3 Olympics, Paris is doing the same with half of the budget, which is unbelievable. Inflation has increased since 2012 but Paris is doing with almost half of the cost.
For infrastructure only USD 3.2 Billion has been spent. To clean river seine, the budget was USD 1.2 Billion. The main expense for Opening Ceremony is 705 million dollars. Paris has many old stadiums which has saved lots of money for these games in 2024. The main football stadium with the capacity of 80,000 spectators was built in 2021 with USD 647 million. On the security, Paris is spending USD 348 million.
In 2014, NBCU awarded the media broadcast rights for USD 7.65 billion from 2021 to 2032.
Paris Olympics is earning from its ticket sale, for opening ceremony the tickets price is ranging from Euro 90 to 2700.
Almost half of the tickets reserved for general public is less than 50 Euros. One million tickets already sold for 24 Euros only.
It is estimated that Paris 2024 Olympic can make profit around 1.5 Billion Dollars at the end of these biggest world lever games.
