60 yrs old Kuwaiti veteran grab Gold while Indian debutant Anant took silver in Men's Skeet

"VAN" (Asian Games Sports Desk - Hangzhou, China - 28.09.2023) :: 60-years-old Kuwaiti shooter Abdullah Alrashidi regained the Asian Games Men's Skeet title at Fuyang Yinhu Sports Centre on Wednesday, September 28.

Qualifying in sixth place, Alrashidi performed flawlessly in the final, hitting all 60 targets, equaling the world record. It is his third individual Asian Games gold medal after Incheon 2014 and Guangzhou 2010.

Asian Games debutant Anant Jeet Singh Naruka of India took the silver medal, and Alattiyai from Qatar had to settle for bronze, the same medal he achieved at Guangzhou 2010.

Hosts China claimed gold in the Men's Team event.

In the Women's Skeet , Chinese athletes Jiang Yiting and Gao Jinmei staged a one-two finish, with Jiang setting a Games record of 57 in the final. Kazakhstan's Assem Orynbay joined them on the podium with the bronze medal. Orynbay also helped her team take gold alongside Kazakhstan's Olga Panarina and Zoya Kravchennko, in a first medal for Kazakhstan in this event.

The Women's 50m Rifle 3 Positions and Women's 25m Pistol were held at indoor ranges. In the 50m Rifle there was a gold medal and world record for India's Sift Kaur Samra while Chinese athlete Liu Rui fended off India's Esha Singh in the 25m Pistol, securing the gold medal and the Asian Games record.
