Kazakhstani Bibisara Assaubayeva took first place among women at the "Aeroflot Open 2024" Chess Festival

"VAN" (Sports Desk - 11.03.2024) :: The international chess festival "Aeroflot Open 2024," considered one of the world's strongest open tournaments, took place in Moscow from March 2 to March 8, 2024. The competition involved chess players who have a FIDE rating of more than 2300 points. Additionally, participants under 15 years old also took part in the tournament.

Kazakhstani chess player Bibisara Assaubayeva showed the best result among women, taking first place with 5.5 points.

Along with Assaubayeva, Daniyal Sapanov (21st place), Ramazan Zhalmakhanov (38th place), Alisher Suleymenov (65th place), and Kazbek Nogerbek (18th place) defended the honor of Kazakhstan at the festival. Nogerbek performed the best among the Kazakhstani participants. After 9 rounds, Kazbek, with 6 points shared 6- 19 places in a large group and became one of the prize winners. In the rating cate- gory 2400-2499, he had no equals. Daniyal Sapanov (5.5 points) only lost the first place due to additional indicators and finished second in the rating category 2300-2399.

In total, over 500 people participated in the tournament.
