"VAN" (Sports Desk - 19.09.2025) :: It looked as though a storm was coming and it finally arrived when Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone stepped on the track. She won the women's 400m with an unbelievable 47.78 – the second-fastest time in history and the first sub-48 performance in 40 years. And she wasn’t alone: Marileidy Paulino followed with a dazzling 47.98 national record. The men’s 400m was just as thrilling, with two athletes from Botswana on the podium as Collen Kebinatshipi taking gold and teammate Bayapo Ndori claiming bronze, with Jereem Richards splitting the duo. In the field, Keshorn Walcott completed his journey from Olympic gold in 2012 to world champion, 13 years later. In the women’s triple jump, Leyanis Pérez claimed a big win, while Yulimar Rojas showed her strength by fighting back for bronze after a tough year. And the action didn’t stop there – the 200m and men’s 800m semifinals were pure fire.
