One huge day of NITRO Finals Mayhem

"VAN" (Sports Desk - 06.11.2025) :: The NDRC’s Nitro Nationals, presented by PW Brakes and Racer Industries, will ensure this Saturday November 8 at Sydney Dragway is packed full of nitro mayhem with the finals of the Top Fuel and XPRO Nitro Funny Car Championships.

Across one action-packed day, fans will be treated to plenty of flame-throwing, ground-shaking action from the Top Fuel dragsters and XPRO Nitro Funny Cars in their final event of the 2024/2025 season. And ensuring that the track is a constant hive of activity, the eye-watering performances of these 11,000hp racing machines will be further complemented by all the thrills of the Aeroflow Allstars, who will be battling it out for a share in $25,000 in cash and an iconic Rocket Trophy – the first time this trophy has been awarded in the sportsman ranks.

As exciting as the action will be on the track, there will also be plenty to entertain off it as well. Fans will be able to get up close and personal with all the stars and their cars in the pits – with the incredible Aussie Raider in particular sure to draw plenty of attention in the Aeroflow Performance/Rocket Industries Racing area – and also enjoy the High Air FMX Pit Show, featuring X-Games Quarter Pipe gold medallist Corey Creed.

“There really is no better way to experience all the NDRC and Australian drag racing has to offer than the Nitro Nationals, presented by PW Brakes and Racer Industries,” NDRC Co-Founder, Andy Lopez, said.

“The intensity for the Top Fuel and XPRO Nitro Funny Cars is set to be at boiling point as the hard-fought 2024/2025 season comes to an epic close while important event bragging rights are also on the line.

“You also get all the action of the Aeroflow Allstars, pitting invited sportsman racing stars from across the country against each other in an all-out fight for glory – and a share of $25,000!

“In the pits, you can experience a level of access to the stars of this great sport that you just don’t find elsewhere, and make sure you keep an eye out for the legendary Aussie Raider as well in the pits and on the track.

“And of course you cannot forget the gravity-defying stunts and heart-stopping action of the High Air FMX Pit Show – another not to be missed element of an event I am sure we are all going to be talking about for some time to come.

“Kids 13 and under get in free, and with this line-up and the back-to-back entertainment on offer, I cannot recommend enough that you bring the whole crew out for a day you will never forget. Without a doubt, this is going to be a big one!”

Heading into the final stand for 2024/2025, Wayne Newby leads the Top Fuel chase for the prestigious Stan Sainty Cup from Rapisarda Autosport International teammate and defending champion, Damien Harris, with Harris still having a chance to snatch the title away. They will be part of an epic six-car Top Fuel field, joined by Phil Read, Phil Lamattina, Steve Read, and Shane Olive.

In XPRO Nitro Funny Car, Morice McMillin – who will be sporting the iconic Aussie Raider tribute livery – leads the way over his Aeroflow Racing teammate Josh Leahy and will be looking to lock the title down as early as possible in the intense racing program this Saturday. The pair will be joined on-track by fellow XPRO Nitro Funny Car racers, Luke Shepherd, Damon Paton, and defending champion Justin Walshe.
