Jim ready racing to come out swinging in Sydney

"VAN" (Sports Desk - 18.08.2025) :: This Saturday’s Grand Finale of the 2024/2025 NDRC Top Fuel Championship, the Nitro Nationals at Sydney Dragway, sees Hydraulink Jim Read Racing presented with the opportunity to bookend their season in style.

The Sydney-based outfit commenced the season with a dominating performance at the season-opener at Dragway at The Bend – top qualifying, winning the event, and setting a new national record along the way.

While what were high hopes for a championship tilt at the conclusion of that event back in October 2024 would be later dashed through a combination of frustrating part failures and bad luck, the competitive fire within the team has never diminished and fans should expect them to come out swinging for this one-day spectacular.

“We started off the season in the best way possible, so how good would it be to finish it out the same way,” Hydraulink Jim Read Racing Driver, Phil Read, said.

“We certainly have the capability, hopefully this weekend we can have a bit of the luck to go with it!

“While it has been a challenging season for sure, our fire has not gone out, and the support of our dedicated sponsors and fans has been unwavering. We couldn’t be more excited to try and bring home the chocolates this weekend!

“If you are in the area, make sure you come out and be a part of this show – the one-day format is going to deliver plenty of intensity and thrilling racing, and we hope to see you there.”

“We are keen, we are prepped, we are eager, and we are full of vengeance,” added Hydraulink Jim Read Racing Crew Chief, Bruce Read.

“It has certainly been a roller coaster of a year, and my saying of late has been – we have a great car, we just can’t seem to get a win! If we didn’t have bad luck, we wouldn’t have had any – hopefully we can change that this weekend and ensure our season is bookended by winning performances.”
