"VAN" (International Desk - 29.05.2025) :: As part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative led by the President of Ukraine, 11 more Ukrainian children have been returned from territories temporarily occupied by Russia.
Daria Zarivna, Chief Operating Officer of Bring Kids Back UA, shared the news on social media, as reported by Ukraine News Agency.
“Among them is a girl whose mother and brother—both soldiers and defenders of Azovstal—spent more than three years in Russian captivity. Throughout that time, the mother feared she might never see her children again. During a prisoner exchange, she unexpectedly reunited with her son on a bus, and today, she was finally able to embrace her young daughter,” Zarivna said.
Another young man saw his family for the first time in three years—his father, who has been defending Ukraine in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and his brother, also a soldier, who endured more than three years in Russian captivity.
Additionally, an orphaned boy was rescued after being abducted from school by Russian forces, taken to a basement, and subjected to torture. He was beaten, intimidated, and nearly forced into the Russian army just before reaching adulthood.
Zarivna expressed gratitude to Save Ukraine and other partners for their crucial role in organizing this difficult rescue operation.
Previously, Ukrinform reported that the Bring Kids Back UA initiative successfully rescued a Ukrainian teenager from Russian-occupied territories.
