SUPERCHARGED OUTLAWS CONTENDERS READY TO DECIDE IT ALL

"VAN" (Sports Desk - 16.04.2026) :: The New Gen Business Park Supercharged Outlaws bracket is gearing up for a high‑horsepower showdown at the ANDRA Grand Finals, with two racers arriving on the maximum 300‑point cap and a strong group of challengers still capable of shaking up the title fight at Dragway at The Bend on April 18.

Leading the charge is 2022 champ Mark Hunt, who capped out early in the season and now heads into the finale with his infamous Customline after his Corvette was heavily damaged.

“I am going into the Grand Final with ‘the Cusso,’ after the Corvette got damaged,” Hunt explained.

“It has been a big season, we started in Darwin and bombed out, then we went on to win at Alice Springs, and there has been plenty more to talk about across the rest of the season.

“At the end of the day, we are capped out and leading the way, and we are looking forward to seeing if we can add another ANDRA Championship Gold Christmas Tree trophy to the mantle piece this Saturday.”

Sharing the points cap is fellow long‑time racer Shane Baxter, who is relishing the rare opportunity to fight for a championship after more than four decades in the sport.

“Myself and the crew are excited about the opportunity to have a crack at the championship,” Baxter said.

“I’ve been racing for over 40 years and never got to a final on maximum points.

“We are ready to rock – the car is set on cruise control, and I have been hitting the practice tree.

“I’ll do my best on the day and hopefully that’s good enough. In the meantime, I want to say a big thanks to Brian Oakley for the support.”

Sitting just behind the capped pair is Tim Stewart on 260 points, followed by Shane Kramer (250), Kasey McClure (210), Jason Keily (210), and Doina Day (200). With 100 points on offer for a win, all remain in touch of the championship win should the opportunity arise.
