Defeating Nepal and Thailand in the Women’s & Men's Kabaddi semifinal, the Indian Kabaddi Teams has stormed into the final of the 20th Asian Games 2026!
Women beat Nepal by 48-24 while men with the difference of 66-28 against Thailand.
MEN's KABADDI
India produced a commanding display in the men’s kabaddi competition at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, defeating Thailand 66-28 in the semi-final at the Tokai Citizens Gymnasium on Friday morning to book their place in the Final.
India began on the front foot, with their raiders consistently finding bonus points while a tight defensive unit put Thailand under pressure. Devank Dalal proved particularly difficult to contain, helping India inflict an early All-Out. Thailand responded through Supawit Somrat’s back hold on Ayan Lohchab and a three-point Super Raid from Theeradet Chaisit, who then stepped up again to inflict an All-Out on India and bring Thailand back into the contest.
India’s offence, spearheaded by Devank Dalal and Arjun Deshwal, continued to find points, but Chaisit kept Thailand in the contest with a series of successful raids. India regained control towards the end of the half, securing another All-Out to extend their advantage and head into the break with a 37-18 lead.
Devank Dalal continued his impressive run after the interval, with Ayan Lohchab also contributing in attack as India maintained the pressure. Chaisit continued to provide Thailand with points, but the Indian raiders repeatedly opened up the gap, eventually securing another All-Out to further extend their advantage.
India’s defence then stepped up midway through the second half, with Aslam Inamdar making contributions at both ends of the mat as the team tightened its grip on the contest. Thailand struggled to find an answer to India’s relentless raiding, allowing the defending champions to pull further clear and close out a comprehensive 66-28 victory.
India’s 66 points included 43 from outs, 15 bonus points and eight All-Out points, while Thailand managed 20 outs, five bonus points, two All-Out points and one technical point. India will now face the winner of the second semi-final between Chinese Taipei and Iran in the gold-medal match at 2:30 PM tomorrow.
