Italy earn impressive victory in final warm-up match

"VAN" (Sports Desk - 07.02.2026) :: Italy powered past the UAE by 112 runs in the final warm-up match before their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup debut.

Brothers Anthony and Justin Mosca were in the runs in Chennai, while Namibia slipped to defeat against India A.

Competitive action begins on Saturday with three matches. Pakistan take on the Netherlands, West Indies face Scotland and India go head-to-head with the USA.

Mosca brothers fire Italy to success

Opening batters Anthony and Justin Mosca were in fine form as Italy defeated the UAE by 112 runs.

The brothers added 81 in 6.5 overs before Anthony was run out for 56 from 22 balls, with five sixes.

Justin retired out on 48 while Harry Manenti and Grant Stewart both scored 29 as Italy racked up 193 for seven.

Stewart then seized control with the ball, taking three for seven as the UAE slumped to 35 for eight, Crishan Kalugamage chipping in with three for 18.

Muhammad Farooq (23) and Muhammad Zohaib (16) stemmed the tide but the UAE were ultimately dismissed for 81 in the 19th over.

India A too strong for Namibia

A century stand between Riyan Parag and Naman Dhir led India A to a 130-run win over Namibia.

They came together at 25 for two but quickly put the game beyond their opponents, Parag smashing six sixes in his 39-ball 69 and Dhir contributing 39 from 29.

Ashutosh Sharma’s 35 kept up the momentum as India A finished on 197 for eight, and Namibia gave themselves a mountain to climb when they slipped to two for three in reply, three of their top four falling for ducks.

Only Dylan Leicher (22) and Jan Frylinck (12) made it into double figures, with four Indian bowlers claiming two wickets apiece as they closed out a comfortable success.
