"VAN" (Sports Desk - 29.09.2026) :: Twenty-six players gather in the Olympic City USA as cricket prepares to return to the Olympic Games for the first time in 128 years.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) and the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) have announced details of a preparatory camp for a 26-player USA Men's National Cricket Team being held at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs.
The camp, that runs from 27 to 29 September, marks a landmark step in the team’s preparations for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games and the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028, where cricket will return to the Olympic program for the first time in 128 years. It last featured at the 1900 Paris Olympic Games.
The squad begins its journey from Colorado Springs, celebrated as the “Olympic City USA” and home to the USOPC's flagship training complex, with the players formally welcomed by the city, ICC and Olympic Movement leadership.
Dignitaries expected to greet the team include Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade, alongside senior USOPC leadership, underscoring the city's role at the heart of America's Olympic ambitions as cricket embarks on its LA28 pathway.
The camp gives the squad its first opportunity to experience what it means to represent Team USA within the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic system. Players are undergoing comprehensive physical and medical screening, forming the basis of individual 24-month plans designed to support their performance and availability in the lead-up to LA28. With a demanding international calendar between now and the Games, the camp also brings the group together to shape the culture and team values that will define the USA National Men's Team and drive the performances the country can be proud of.
