Tourism Development Research Association, has done research on the international urban beaches which are similar to Sanya's beach. In his opinion, Sanya beaches are not only “unparalleled” in China, but also competitive internationally.
"From the point of view of sand quality, there are not many white and delicate beaches like that in Sanya. For example, the beaches of Okinawa in Japan, Jeju Island in Korea, and Hawaii in the United States, are not as good as Sanya's beach in terms of sand purity and softness," he said.
