ICC Awards 2024: Winners set to be revealed across five days of announcements

"VAN" (Sports Desk - 24.01.2025) :: The International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to reveal the results of the ICC Awards 2024 voting process this week, with the outstanding men’s and women’s international cricketers honoured across five days of announcements, starting Friday.

With no shortage of exceptional individual performances throughout the calendar year, the contenders for the top prizes in the ICC Awards 2024 are drawn from pinnacle global events including the dramatic ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies, the landmark ICC Women’s T20 World Cup hosted by Bangladesh in the UAE, and a host of other international competition.

After shortlists were announced in nine of the 12 individual award categories last month, a twelve-day voting period saw an independent panel of prominent media – the ICC Voting Academy – select their top performers alongside global cricket fans, resulting in a staggering 1.5million votes cast at icc-cricket.com.

The first announcements are set to begin with the unveiling of five ICC Teams of the Year on 24 and 25 January, celebrating the standout XIs across Men’s Tests, and Men’s and Women’s ODIs and T20Is as selected by the ICC Voting Academy.

25 January also sees the first individual awardees unveiled, with winners in 12 categories revealed until 28 January, spanning the Umpire of the Year, outstanding performers in T20I, ODI and Test cricket and culminating in the most coveted and iconic prizes – the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year and the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year.

Winners in individual categories are determined by both the ICC Voting Academy and votes received by fans at icc-cricket.com.

The ICC Awards were established in 2004 to acknowledge the very best performers in international cricket and the twentieth edition sees winners selected based on performances and overall achievements in international cricket from 1 January to 30 December 2024.
