"VAN" (Sports Desk - 11.06.2026) :: The International Cricket Council (ICC) will set a new benchmark for the broadcast production of women’s cricket through a series of innovative and immersive technologies that will showcase the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 as a global cultural moment for the sport.
This will be delivered through the highest-quality camera production of any ICC Women’s World Cup, mobile-first live coverage, immersive broadcast technology and both athlete- and creator-led storytelling.
All 33 matches across seven venues will be produced for live broadcast by ICC TV, with every match captured using 35 to 41 cameras to ensure comprehensive coverage from every angle.
The tournament, starting 12 June and running until 5 July, will see ICC TV and JioStar again produce its pioneering, world-first vertical live stream produced specifically for mobile-first audiences and on-the-go live consumption. First introduced at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the vertical broadcast was designed specifically for mobile consumption and developed in collaboration with Star Sports to reimagine live cricket coverage.
Underpinning the tournament’s wider innovation is ICC TV’s most advanced production operation for any women’s event. For the first time, an ICC Women’s World Cup will be produced in full 1080p HD, elevating the live viewing experience and reflecting the continued growth, scale and ambition of the women’s game.
A new generation of broadcast technologies will take fans even closer to the speed, skill and emotion of the tournament. Enhanced camera systems and visualisation tools, including Comet Cam, HawkVision, Magic 360, Viz Libero and Arcturus, will create more immersive perspectives around wickets, celebrations, player reactions and key match moments.
Quidich’s Magic 360 technology delivers dynamic spatial replay sequences, while advanced graphic storytelling tools powered by Viz Libero will support richer tactical analysis and visual explainers. Player-tracking services and Cricviz data add further depth to performance insight, with drones, buggy cameras and aerial cabled camera systems bringing cinematic movement and fresh perspectives from the field of play.
ICC TV’s host broadcast operation is delivered in partnership with Sunset+Vine for production services and NEP for outside broadcast facilities and engineering, bringing together some of the industry's most experienced specialists in live sports production.
The production approach extends beyond the traditional world feed through a creator content ecosystem designed to showcase the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 through different voices, communities and platforms. Dozens of creators from all over the worldhave already attended team media days warm-up matches and the historic ICC Captains' Carnival on Waterloo Bridge, with those on in the #T20CreatorClub set to capture all the colour, culture and personalities that make ICC events so special.
The innovative production plans are supported by a wider global content ecosystem across licensee, ICC-owned, ICC-operated and UGC platforms. Meanwhile, in another first for women’s cricket, all official warm-up matches have been live-streamed, while the main event is to be broadcast in 14 different languages across key markets and through ICC broadcast licensees.
ICC Women’s Cricket Week adds a further global dimension to the tournament, with more than 50 ICC Member nations set to participate through a variety of criiio cricket festivals and watch parties. The initiative builds on the success of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 programme, when 44 ICC Members took part and engaged more than 13,000 women and girls all over the world.
Selected content from Women’s Cricket Week will be integrated across ICC channels and live broadcasts, connecting the action in England and Wales with global communities, and reinforcing the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 as both an elite sporting event and a cultural movement for the continued growth of women’s cricket.
