"VAN" (International Desk) :: The security forces killed the leader of the Al Qaeda terrorist network for the Indian subcontinent during an operation in Helmand province of Afghanistan. The Afghan Intelligence, National Directorate of Security said in a statement that the security and defense forces conducted a joint operation in Musa Qala district of Helmand around two weeks ago. The statement further added that the security and defense forces killed Asim Omar, the leader of Al Qaeda terrorist network for the Indian subcontinent. The security and defense forces killed a number of other Al Qaeda and Taliban leaders during the same raid including Abu Raihan who was playing a key role in maintaining connections between Asim Omar and Ayman Al Zawahiri, the leader of Al Qaeda network.
