ADDC Ganderbal reviews implementation of PM-SYM

“VAN” (Dar Rafi – Ganderbal, Srinagar) :: Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal, who is also officiating as Deputy Commissioner today convened a meeting of officers to take review of implementation of Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan (PM-SYM) pension scheme across the district.

The ADDC stressed on covering all genuine unorganized workers working as MG-NREGA job card holders, pony wallas, dandi wallas, labour card holders, home based workers, street vendors, mid-day meal workers, cobblers, agricultural workers, construction workers, handloom workers and similar other occupations whose monthly income is Rs 15,000/ per month or less and belong to the entry age group of 18-40 years.

Under the PM- SYM scheme each subscriber shall receive minimum assured pension of Rs 3000/- per month after attaining the age of 60 years and in case the subscriber dies, the spouse of the beneficiary shall be entitled to receive 50% of the pension received by the beneficiary as family pension.

The ADDC stressed on concerned departments to coordinate with each other and complete the list of genuine workers expeditiously and were asked to ensure maximum number of workers get registered as primary objective of the scheme is to offer financial security to the people with no economic backup facilities, he added.

The District Manager CSC was directed to prepare the deployment list of CSCs and share the same with the concerned departments so that the representative of each department is accompanied with the CSC who shall disseminate awareness about the scheme and motivate the people for registration.

He also emphasized on disseminating awareness about the scheme at village level by holding awareness camps and through print, electronic media so that no genuine worker is left out of the scheme.

Among others, the meeting was attended by CEO, CMO, DPO, EO Municipality, Assistant Labour Commissioner, AD Floriculture, District Manager CSC and other concerned officers.
