"VAN" (Dar Rafi - Ganderbal, Srinagar) :: In continuation to its drive against menace of drive drugs from society, Ganderbal Police developed an information about involvement of a Police Official in peddling of drugs in Baroosa area. After hot pursuit one constable namely Showkat Ahmed Ganie was arrested with initial small quantity of Codeine Phosphate and to this effect FIR No.25/2020 U/S 8/22 NDPS Act was registered registered against the accused Police official at Police Station Kheer bhawani. He was further subjected to interrogation and based upon his disclosure a huge quantity of 800 bottles of Codeine Phosphate Narcotics recovered from his house. A special investigation team has been constituted to work out involvement of other persons in bringing such a huge consignment of drugs. Besides the countable has been placed under suspension. SSP Ganderbal told that everyone who is spreading drugs in society shall not be spared and property raised by such illegal means shall be attached. A request also made to share information about Narcotic smugglers and peddlers.
