DC Ganderbal urges for maximum possible Covid testing

“VAN” (Dar Rafi – Ganderbal, Srinagar) :: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today chaired a meeting of Health Department where he urged upon the Block Medical Officers to ensure maximum possible Rapid Antigen testing in their concerned blocks to minimize the spread of disease.

During the meeting the DC sought details from the concerned BMOs about the progress of tests done in their respective blocks and status of services provided to the patients who are in home isolation.

While reviewing the progress on sampling and rapid testing, the DC commended the role played by the sampling teams and technical staff of Health Department for all out efforts in ensuring maximum possible testing.

While reviewing the health services provided to the patients in home isolation, the DC exhorted upon the DMOs to ensure home isolation Protocol is followed strictly by the patients and take stringent action against such patients who violate SOPs.

While addressing the meeting, the DC said that such drives are aimed at early detection of cases and timely measures for isolation or treatment for controlling the spread of pandemic.

He exhorted upon the teams to continue their efforts and ensure maximum aggressive Rapid Antigen testing is done in all Red Zone areas of the district and all service providers of the district are tested.

He also said that Tehsildar and police personnel will continue to facilitate the arrangements for sampling in respective areas and providing required assistance to sampling teams as per requirement.

Meanwhile DC appealed to civil society and PRIs to mobilize the people in respective areas for ensuring maximum sampling/ testing for COVID-19 as which is aimed at containing the spread of Covid-19.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, CMO Ganderbal, DHO, BMOs and other officials from Heath Department.
